Some Things To Consider Before We Get Started…

  •  The time you spend traveling to Bali from is not included in this 7 day Bali Itinerary. Therefore, if you are traveling from anywhere in North America, South America or Europe, or Africa it is best to plan for at least a whole day’s worth of travel time.
  • As stated in our Southeast Asia Backpacking Route blog, Bali is one of the destinations where we recommend at least a month in if you wish to see a majority of all the best places.
  • Therefore with only one week in Bali, you will need to cram as many beautiful Bali attractions as possible into your itinerary to make this trip worth it.
  • However, with the proper planning and coordination, it is extremely possible to plan the perfect 7 days in Bali to leave travelers completely satisfied with their holiday.
  • However, if you are looking for a more relaxed holiday then it will be much easier to plan your week in Bali.
  • Either way whether you want a holiday full of adventure and sightseeing or one full of relaxation and pleasure, we have sorted out two different itineraries below to meet your specific needs.

The Best Places To Spend A Week In Bali For Sightseeing

From Kelingking Beach to Tukad Cepung Waterfall, this the perfect one week itinerary to see all the best Instagram spots in Bali.

Day 1 -2:  Ubud

Your first stop on this 7 day Bali itinerary is one of the islands most beautiful destinations.

Ubud is famous for its golden sunrises, affordable luxury villas, flourishing rice fields, and mystifying waterfalls.

Containing some of Bali’s most iconic sights, Ubud is a great place to begin your week in Bali.

How To Get To Ubud

You will be flying into Denpasar International Airport. Once you depart the airport there will be plenty of taxi drivers and shuttles ready to take you wherever you have to go.

Ubud is located only about a 45-minute drive from the airport depending on traffic.

Days 3-5: Nusa Islands

Bali is known for its spectacular tropical beaches embraced with turquoise blue translucent waters and powdery white sand.

However, contrary to popular belief, the majority of these beaches are not directly located on the main island of Bali at all, but in fact on a completely different set of islands.

The best Bali beaches are located on the nearby Nusa Islands which are comprised of Nusa Penida, Nusa Lembongan, and Nusa Ceningan.

With that being said, don’t worry because the islands are located just a 30-minute boat ride off the coast of Bali. This makes the Nusa Islands the next ideal destination on your one week in Bali itinerary.

How To Get To The Nusa Islands?

Getting to the Nusa Islands is relatively simple from Ubud. All you will need to do is visit one of the many tour agencies scattered throughout Ubud town and organize your booking.

They will take care of your shuttle to the port from Ubud as well as your ferry over to the Nusa Islands.

I recommend reserving this booking the very first day you arrive in Ubud in order to guarantee you a spot on the boat.

Once you arrive at the port in either Nusa Penida or Nusa Lembongan, you can easily find a driver to take you the remainder of the way to your accommodation.

Where To Stay In The Nusa Islands?

The two best islands to stay on are Nusa Penida or Nusa Lembongan, however deciding which one is completely up to you.

Staying On Nusa Penida

Nusa Penida is the island with the majority of the major attractions such as Kelingking Beach, Suwehan Beach, Manta Point and so many others. However, aside from sightseeing, there isn’t much else to do on Nusa Penida. The island is not a very touristy destination at all, and therefore is very limited in terms of hotels and restaurants.

Staying On Nusa Lembongan

On the other hand, Nusa Lembongan still has some famous Bali attractions like Devil’s Tears and Blue Lagoon, though just not as many as Nusa Penida does.  However, Nusa Lembongan is much more built up in terms of accommodation, restaurants and beach clubs.

Days 6 -7: Uluwatu

Your final stop along your Bali 7 days and 6 nights itinerary is the breathtaking destination of Uluwatu.

Famous for its towering sea cliffs, vivacious beach clubs, and stunning panoramas, Uluwatu is where you will find the remainder of those beautiful Bali beaches.

Uluwatu offers the perfect blend of adventure, relaxation, and nightlife which is why it is the perfect place to finish off your one week in Bali tour.

How To Get To Uluwatu From The Nusa Islands?

In order to travel to Uluwatu from the Nusa Islands you will first need to organize a 30-minute ferry to the port of Serangan on mainland Bali.

Then once you arrive in Serangan you will need to organize a taxi or shuttle to drive you to your accommodation in Uluwatu.

Uluwatu from Serangan should only be a 30-minute drive away depending on the traffic.

Similar to Ubud, you should be able to find a tourist agency on the islands to organize this all for you.

However, if not, it is no big deal because at this point in your one week in Bali trip, I’m almost certain you will be more than capable to handle it yourself.

The Best Places To Spend A Week In Bali For Entertainment & Relaxation

Not only is Bali an excellent destination for nature and adventure, but it is also a one stop shop for all of your entertainment and relaxation needs.

With the latest and greatest in luxury accommodation, bass pumping beach clubs and enough boutique shops to completley empty your bank account, Bali is definitely a place that can do both.

This 7 day Bali itinerary will show you all the best places to hang out if you want a more traditional holiday full of fun in the sun and booze filled nights.

Days 1-2: Seminyak

Seminyak is an absolute must for anyone’s one week in Bali holiday.

What it lacks for in natural beauty like waterfalls and viewpoints, it more than makes up for in shopping and entertainment.

Seminyak is hands down the most touristy part of Bali famous for its abundance of lavish beach clubs, boujee hotels, delicious restaurants, and a diverse nightlife scene.

If you want to spend your 7 days in Bali for entertainment and luxury as opposed to adventure and sightseeing, then Seminyak is the place for you.

Days 3-4: Canggu

Canggu is Bali’s most popular up and coming destination.

The upbeat and welcoming vibes here alone are enough to make you never want to leave.

Filled to the brim with avid surfers, young travelers, and expats, Canggu offers the perfect balance of good company, healthy food and the most chilled out vibes of Bali.

How To Get To Canggu from Seminyak?

Seminyak and Canggu are located right next door to each other.  So close you could practically walk!

However, despite how close they are to each other, both places somehow manage to offer completely different vibes which is why we recommend you spend some time getting to know them both.

Where To Stay In Canggu?

Even though Canggu is relatively new to the Bali social scene, doesn’t mean they don’t have any good places to stay.

Whereas Seminyak caters to a more upscale boujee crowd, Canggu caters to younger and more budget conscious crowd.

Which means you can find some pretty sweet deals when looking for accommodation in Canggu.

Days 5-7: Uluwatu

Which is why we once again are recommending it as your final destination for your this particular 7 days in Bali itinerary.

Aside from all the beautiful places to explore, Uluwatu is loaded with iconic beach clubs, delicious restaurants, visually stunning hotels and vibrant nightlife that will let you end your trip with a bang.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is One Week In Bali Enough Or Should Visit When I Have More Holiday Time?

Bali is a place that no matter how long you spend there you will always wish you had more time.

There is always something new to do or a new place to see that makes even a month in Bali insufficient for some travelers.

With that being said, yes, I do believe 7 days in Bali is enough time to make the most of your holiday.

However, there is absolutely zero doubt in my mind that by the time you leave, you will already be planning your next trip back.

Point blank – Bali is just that good.

How Much Will 1 Week In Bali Cost?

Anyone wondering “how much money do I need per day in Bali” can expect to spend a moderate price of around $55 USD per day.

This price includes hostel/hotel accommodation, transportation, food and some mild partying.

Prices do become cheaper if you are traveling with a partner or a group because you can then split the cost among the group for things like accommodation and shuttle transportation.

A week in Bali is quite affordable especially compared to some other travel destinations that offer similar conveniences.

Is 5 days in Bali enough time?

Unless you are traveling from Australia or somewhere else in Asia that is a relatively short flight, then definitely not. 5 days in Bali is most certainly not enough travel time.  One week in Bali is the least amount of time I would recomend here.
