Koh Phi Phi

Once experienced never forgotten, Koh Phi Phi island is a hive of activities that offer both remarkable sights and around the clock entertainment.

Irrefutably one of Thailand’s most popular islands, Koh Phi Phi is infamous for its wild party atmosphere as well as it’s substantial backpacker community.

To emphasize that point, one side of the island is literally lined with beach clubs, pool parties and other drunken festivities that help contribute to Thailand’s well-distinguished party reputation.

On the other side of the coin, Phi Phi is also trademarked as an island of luxury and relaxation, with the opposite side of the island featuring several varieties of lavish accommodation, charming little shops and quaint little beachside restaurants set amongst the most serene of settings.

Essentially a tale of two cities, Koh Phi Phi offers a little something for everyone, making this the number one attraction on our list of top things to do In Krabi.

Maya Bay

Leanardo Dicaprio’s backpacker cult classic “The Beach” has done wonders for Thailand tourism, making Maya Bay and Koh Phi Phi some of the most lust worthy destinations in all of Thailand.

Located just off the coast of Koh Phi Phi, Maya Bay is simply otherworldly with its striking aqua blue two-toned waters, alluring white sand beaches and looming lush green foothills.

As one of Thailand’s premier and most frequented attractions, be sure to arrive here early in the morning sometime just after sunrise if you want to witness Maya Bay in all of its glory without hordes of other boats and tourists thwarting the serenity of this once in a lifetime experience.

Monkey Beach

Lying somewhere in the middle of Maya Bay and Koh Phi Phi, is the notorious attraction of Monkey Beach which is mostly famous for nothing other than its overabundance of monkeys and monkey bites.

Simply put, Monkey Beach is a beautiful 150-meter-long stretch of nothing but pristine white sandy beach and immaculately crystal-clear blue waters, bordered by freakishly tall verdant cliffs, which is where the monkeys reside.

With such an abundant monkey population amidst the most picture-perfect panoramas, Monkey Beach is unquestionably one of Krabi’s can’t miss attractions that allows you to view and interact with these furry fast-tempered little animals in the most beautiful of settings.

Pro Tip

While these monkeys might first appear as nothing but a bundle of cuteness and cuddles, be sure to proceed with caution or you will quickly discover the unexpected wrath of these little gremlins along with what it’s like to get a rabies shot.

Ao Nang Beach

While not the most scenic beach on this list, Ao Nang still has quite a bit to offer travelers as essentially the epicenter of everything there is to do in Krabi.

You can easily arrange tours and transports to virtually everywhere on this list from Ao Nang.

Not to mention if you do decide to stay a couple nights, you will be more than pleased to find a wide array of beautiful and affordable hotel options along with some scrumptiously delicious seafood and pizza restaurants to pick from.

Railay Beach

Just south of Ao Nang Beach lies one of the most beautiful beaches you might possibly ever lay your eyes upon.

Although it is connected to the mainland, the quite remote Railay Beach is only accessible by boat thanks to the massive surrounding cliffs rounded off by dense layers of tropical jungle.

However, the secluded location of Railay Beach simply continues to add to its magnificence.

Comprised of several different impeccable beaches, distinctive viewpoints, one hidden emerald colored lagoon and an undisturbed stress-free atmosphere, Railay Beach is the very essence of the tropical seaside sanctuary that your heart has been yearning for.

Tonsai Bay

Acclaimed backpacker paradise Tonsai Bay is a can’t miss stop on your expedition for the top things to do in Krabi.

Completely secluded by the imposing limestone palisades, this little slice of heaven can only be reached by boat from the nearby town of Ao Nang.

Although those fortified highlands make Tonsai Bay inaccessible by land, on the other hand they also allow for excellent rock climbing adventures if you’re interested in doing something other than lounging on a beach all day.

Tonsai Bay is essentially the cheaper and budget friendly counterpart to the more famous Railay Beach, boasting some welcoming bohemian backpacker vibes that makes this the perfect place to come and relax.

Dragon Crest Viewpoint

Whether it’s because of the exhausting climb, remote location or some other aspect that I am currently unaware of, Dragon Crest is not only one of the most ridiculously awesome things to do in Krabi, but it’s also one of the most unheard-of attractions in all of Thailand.

Located a mere 30-minute motorbike ride from Ao Nang, lies the most spectacular and eye-popping viewpoint in Thailand.

The only thing more mind-blowing than Dragon Crest’s breathtaking and unrivalled panoramas is the fact that for an attraction of this magnitude, there is virtually nobody there!

If you are exhausted from the plethora of boat tours and all of the endless beautiful beaches of Thailand, then be sure to switch it up for the day and add Dragon Crest Viewpoint to your list of top things to do in Krabi.

Hong Island

Lightroom Preset | Blue Dream from The Tropical Obsession Collection

Unbeknownst to most, Hong island is actually one of four islands apart the Koh Hong group.

As one of the most photographed destinations in Thailand, you have probably unknowingly marveled at photos of these islands and even dreamed of one day having the chance to visit a place even half as beautiful.

Hong Island tours run daily out of Ao Nang, however you might want to elect to rent a private boat and arrive early before the rest of the crowd if you are at all interested in experiencing the same magic that you initially laid eyes upon in the photos.

Pileh Lagoon

As the neglected little of brother of the more famous Maya Bay, Pileh Lagoon is mistakenly often ignored and omitted from everyone’s list of top things to do in Krabi.

However contrary to popular belief, Pileh Lagoon is on every level as breathtakingly beautiful as Maya Bay and subsequently as a result of its runner up title, nowhere near as saturated with the frustratingly perplexing amounts of tourists.

This point alone should have you nearly frothing at the mouth with visions of being able to experience a place as stunning as Pileh Lagoon, devoid of the plague proportions of tourists that you could expect to deal with at other popular attractions.
